Unpainted Bodies

Bodies for slot car racing are typically clear lexan which requires paint specifically made for polycarbonate. We carry a full selection of Water and Laquer based paints for painting slot car bodies. Some bodies are made of styrene and are solid white. Polycarbonate and Acrylic paints can be used for painting these types of bodies.

Lexan Painting Tips:

• Wash the inside of the body thoroughly using warm water and dish soap
• Do not cut masks directly on the body as this will create a weak area and is more likely to break
• Paint darker colors first since dark colors will bleed through lighter colors
• Many light coats are better than fewer thicker coats of paint
• Use a hair dryer or heat gun on an appropriate setting to dry paint between coats
